Such an Excellent experience with the people at the store! We had several questions and a repair needed and they were able to help us with all of it. The price was very reasonable and he even did a few extra tweaks to the instrument to help it out without charge. A couple of months later we came in again and had a similar experience with their wonderful customer service, and great knowledge, and accommodations. Will definitely be happy to shop there and get help from them again! Thanks so much Bert Murdock Music!!

I purchased a guitar through this store to by shipped to me in Virginia. On arrival both the guitar and the case had several QC issues. The people at Bert Murdoch music (specifically Kyle) refused to assist me in the cost of returning the guitar and are refusing to offer a full refund even though the guitar was defective. Do NOT order an instrument from them. They do not stand by their products.

Tons of guitars to chose from. People that work there are friendly and know their trade. Good selection. Place is a bit run down (ceiling has several sheets of loose insulation) but has charm 🙂 Got a repair done at a good price. Saw some Yamaha speakers that were looking good. That Alligator Fender amp is dope.

I had an absolutely horrible experience with Bert Murdock. I brought my cello in a few months ago because the bridge needed to be replaced and they snapped my A string during the replacement process and replaced it with a lower quality string without even asking me. To make things worse, I’ve been having sound quality issues with my cello ever since and brought it in to Summerhays today to be looked at and learned that the bridge Bert Murdock put on my cello is badly misshapen and not as high quality as they made me believe it was when they sold it to me. After only a few months, I need to get my bridge replaced AGAIN because there’s not even a possibility of repairing the one I currently have.

Needless to say, I will not be going to Bert Murdock ever again. While their employees were nice enough to me, their work was awful and I was incredibly disappointed with the outcome, especially because they promised something completely different. Go somewhere else if you can help it.

They are the only store in Utah that had the epiphone 64 firebird bass that I wanted. Excellent staff, supreme selection of Gibson, Epiphone, Fender, Squire.

They cleaned up, tuned up and replaced all my guitar string for a reasonable price and all in the time I was in the shop!
I also bought a cello from them for my son. Love this place!

Maybe don't whistle at customers like they are dogs to ask them to turn down. Especially when the store is empty. We weren't turned up very loud, and you weren't on the phone like you said you were. Kinda shoddy service all around. I'll see if I can order the instrument I wanted somewhere else. Go to boothe bros or guitar czar. These guys have obviously got a big head.
