Sadly, my wife went into Goodwill Oct 17th to purchase some items and was watched from beginning to end by a black female manager, is that normal operating procedures, to racial profile someone of your own skin tone or is this what society has come to? It’s sad being a military veteran for so many years and getting treated they way we are sometimes treated after serving a country that once respected us for our services.

They have a very large layout. Things were all in order and the store was neat. Dressing room was closed. Parking is good. Like the others certain tag colors get discounts. So check the color for the day while going in. Seniors get an additional discount as well. The store is well stock with merchandise throughout. You can find a deal or just something you may need.

I brought a question to the attention of Ashlyn and my oh my what a treat! She answered my question and was extremely accommodating! A lovely Labor Day shopping experience for certain!

I’d share my thoughts on the previous management but from my understanding, she’s no longer here! ?

I’m an avid thrifter. I’m usually in one of 3 Goodwill’s twice a week. (Flamingo, Alta/Rainbow or the W Sahara location) I’ve seen employees & management come and go. I’ve even become “friends” with some of the staff and am recognized as a “regular” upon entering the store. I mean, I generally spend anywhere between 2-4 hours shopping inside.
I went to the W Sahara location a couple weeks ago and had the absolute worst experience with the new manager. I don’t know if she had me mistaken for someone else or what. I was trying on a bunch of clothes, only 6 items are allowed inside the dressing room at a time. I parked my cart outside the door and would switch out items after trying them on. I’d leave the last “outfit” on, open the door and exchange items from my cart to try on. (My regular clothes were a pain to get on/off and didn’t see the point of getting dressed only to get undressed again to finish trying stuff on) Next thing I know someone is banging on the door like they had a search warrant.
Me: “um, someone is in here”
Manager (or employee): “yeah, I know. That’s the problem!”
Me: “huh? What?”
I zip up the pants I’m trying on, cover up the best I can and open the door.
Me: “what’s the problem?”
Her: “only 6 items at a time!!!”
Me: “I’m switching stuff from my cart as I go?!?”
Her: “how many you got”
I swing open the door and start counting. I had 8. I didn’t count the 2 that I kept on while exchanging from my cart. My bad.
Then she starts counting “9,10,11..”
Me: “Those are the clothes I wore in, they’re my clothes!”
Me: “What’s going on?! Do you think I’m stealing or something?”
Her: “Well, you do have more than 6 items”
I closed the door and got dressed.
Now I’m pissed. Where in tf am I putting these items?! I’m wearing tight yoga pants, a tank top and my purse is smaller than a square lunchbox that barely fits my wallet, keys, etc. I couldn’t zip it up let alone stuff anything in it.
I exit the dressing room and hear her behind the counter at the front of the store laughing and loudly says, ‘Yeah, I think ‘you’re stealing!’ to her coworkers. They all laugh and now all eyes are on me. I left the store. I was so humiliated but I did nothing wrong. I had 2 extra items in the fitting room by mistake.
I usually spend on average about $100-$200 depending on what I’m looking for or what they have. I shop for myself, family members, local charities and some items I sell online.
I will not shop where I’m being watched or accused of shoplifting.

The African-American woman with the braids on the p.m. shift is extremely ignorant and rude. She immediately accused my husband of swapping his clothes in plain sight. She quickly realized she was wrong. She threw shoes across the front register at the poor girl that was trying to check us out. We finally left without making a purchase. I do not recommend this store.

I would respect this evil corporation more if they simply changed their name to "Greedwill" instead of "Goodwill." There is far more greed occurring here than good. It's downright laughable at how high they price their items. Its embarrassing. I'm embarrassed for them.

So I making centerpieces for my sister's wedding. I'm very crafty and thrifty so of course I went to my neighborhood Goodwill on Arvill and Sahara. I was so excited to see the candlesticks that I needed but not so much about the price. I asked the 1st manager who was ringing me up to please reconsider the pricing since they only cost a dollar. She said she couldn't help me and that she had to call up another manager(all while pausing and doing price checks on other customers). After a couple minutes 2nd Manager Regina finally came up and said no. Arguing that they were very expensive crystals. I told her that they were from the dollar store because I had bought IDENTICAL ones already but she still said NO. Also telling me to go back to Dollar Tree and buy them there then. I told her I couldn't because they were sold out. She then said I could purchase them here for their price and rudely walked away. I'm very disappointed about their attitudes. You didn't want to sell for actually retail price? Fine, but was all the neck rolling and condescending attitude necessary? I will be taking my money to the competitor across the street.

Great place with endless treasures. You can always, always find something. The nice thing is that you can find items that you wouldn't normally pay the retail price for and try them out with little to no guilt...
Update...Still great finds on housewares, clothing, and more...
Another Update....more of a question, really; Are you still here Get out there and spread some good will...
