I had the most amazing experience here at the Herman Miller retail store thanks to Gene. It was definitely the highlight of my trip to New York.

It was immediately obvious that Gene is passionate and knowledgable about Herman Miller products. Although I was not able to make a purchase as I was visiting from out of town, Gene made me feel welcome and comfortable in the store. We conversed at great length about Eames products and the whole range of Herman Miller furniture.

When I have the chance to visit New York again, I will be sure to come back to not only this store, but also the Park ave flagship store!

Amazing experience. The furniture is perfect, as expected, but the team (Amelia, Devon and Gabby) are unbelievably professional and supremely cool! If i were a recruiter, which I am, I would hire them all and pay them a lotttttttt.

Went in to check out the Embody and Aeron in person. Devon was super helpful. Let us be for a bit and then came over and explained all the functionality (iykyk) and was just the right amount of present.

I went last night with a friend that was looking to buy a chair. We had the pleasure of meeting Devon, who is the General Manager. Let me preface this by saying that my friend and I walked in not looking like what one would assume a person that would potentially buy a $2k chair would look like. Devon was absolutely remarkable. He was knowledgeable, kind and very patient as my friend couldn't decide between a few chairs. He clarified a lot of differences and how to use the chairs. He gave us space to discuss privately and helped whenever we had follow up questions. My friend could not make a decision that night and considered buying online as he came to a decision. We asked Devon if he makes commission off sales and he does. After thanking us for considering that fact, he offered to create a profile and send over an email with the links of the exact products my friend was deciding between. We walked out that day without making a purchase, but my friend did buy the next day via that link. Devon, thank you for an amazing experience. It was better than I'd expected it to be.

I just had the most amazing experience purchasing a chair at The Herman Miller Store on Gansevoort. I had the great luck of working with Devon Torrey, the store's general manager, who guided me through the process of choosing the perfect chair details with knowledge, professionalism, patience and care. It was an appointment visit to the store after my initial walk in last week. Devon had all the specs ready along with a tape measure and an engaging way that gave me space to consider 'this or that.' He also had an incredible design eye which tipped the scales when I couldn't make up my mind. The store is beautiful AND functional which makes the on site experience productive and enjoyable. It's worth a visit whatever your current furniture needs may be.

Gene made chair shopping fun!

I recently transitioned into a 100% remote job and needed a new chair due to my aging self—my cheap Staples chair just wasn't giving me the support I needed anymore, and I decided to splurge a little with my husband’s credit card. I want to emphasize that I am an extreme hermit and will not leave my house for anything other than food, so I absolutely dreaded heading into this store. To my pleasant surprise, Gene was absolutely amazing! He gave me time and space to put my butt on every chair, and even gave me demonstrations on the functionality across all of them. The YouTube demonstrations got nothing on Gene.

Overall, incredible customer service—even after my purchase! Gene sent me email updates on potential delays and set up expectations. Would recommend this location!

Oh, and the chair is pretty nice too. I got the Aeron because I am basic.

Had a really lovely experience here picking out an office chair! I was probably completely neurotic in retrospect because i have to be 100% sure on expensive purchases -- the rep who was working at the time was very friendly and struck a good balance between being nearby to answer questions while also giving me space to sit in every chair multiple times and debate every choice with my husband. I'm glad i tried chairs in person because i got to try all the different Aeron sizes and discover that there are more aspects of a chair that matter to me than I'd thought ?
