I took my son to see Marisa on Friday and she was great! She made us feel so comfortable in a setting where most things can be uncomfortable to talk about. She was very easy to communicate with!

Dr Izaguirre has been caring for my daughter for about 4 years .
She's patient, understanding . She talks to us like we're family .
Would definitely recommend her if any of my friends kids need a GI

I unfortunately had the worst experience with Dr. Marisa Izaguirre… heartless is what she and her staff are.

My 12 month old has had GI issues his entire life and had a serious choking incident recently which led us to getting a referral to Dr. Izaguirre. We eagerly waited 2 months for the soonest appointment. I confirmed my appointment online two days before, and submitted my check in information and paperwork the night before.

I live over an hour away traveling with a 12 month and had to find childcare for my other children. There was a lot of traffic and I was unaware we would have to park in a large paid parking garage, so I was unfortunately 12 minutes late. I checked in with the front desk at exactly 1:12pm (my appointment was at 1) and was told that I missed my appointment and didn’t check in (they sent the check in link at 12:05pm while I was driving).

I told them what happened and they didn’t care. The doctor herself said that I can either reschedule or wait to see if someone doesn’t show up.

We really needed this appointment and I was very heartbroken. Not only was Dr Izaguirre heartless enough to not see my baby after we were 12 minutes late (and my paperwork was already submitted), but the receptionist Shayna was very rude and seemed to enjoy being able to turn me away.

If you’re looking for a kind doctor to take time with your child and hear your case, Dr Izaguirre is not your person. Look elsewhere.

UPDATE: I’ve tried calling the community manager at the phone number below 7 times in the last week and a half and have left 4 voicemails without a callback or response.

Dr. Izaguirre is wonderful. She really listens and provides understandable explanations and options. She is friendly, knowledgeable and has really made my son feel validated in his experience. She assures him that she will continue helping until he no longer feels pain. Her calming demeanor helps my son feel confident and safe trusting her with his gastro challenges. I really appreciate her knowledge and bedside manner - the overall experience matters - and she gets that.

Dr. Izaguirre was sweet & good with my son. However, we’ve had an issue with our son we are desperate to find answers for. She sent us for an X-ray of his stomach then she called us with the results in a voicemail because I was at work. She also said in her voicemail she’d have her nurse call me to tell me exactly what I needed to use to help my son & here we are months later & her nurse never called me. I paid a lot of money upfront & it upsets me they didn’t follow through. Thankfully I ran into my personal PA who told me what to do.

I am very grateful my son was placed in Dr Izaguirre's care after he was discharged from the hospital last year. She is very knowledgeable in her field, takes a lot of time to go over every one of my questions at our appointments, is kind and caring, and is also a mom who just gets how hard medical problems in children are for the whole family.

Dr Izaguirre is patient, kind, and really listens to her patients and their worried parents. It is a breath of fresh air to have a physician sit with us, not rush us along, and take the time to dig deep to figure out what is going on with our child.
