Avis de Moor Christopher MD

I have been with Dr. Moor for several years. My initial appointment took an hour because he was so thorough. At that appointment I reported that my osteoporosis had been eliminated and then returned within a year due to another local physician’s negligence. Dr. Moor was emphatic that I see a different local doctor and my osteoporosis is diminished due to Dr. Nasaf’s treatment. Dr Moor has been quick in responding to my checkups referring me to other local, excellent physicians. The hospital’s current system is quick in reporting test results, but within a few days I also get a call from Dr. Moor’s efficient, friendly staff telling me any changes I may have to make or referring me to appropriate specialists. Good PCPs. Are hard to find. I’m sticking with a sure thing, hoping Dr. Moor doesn’t retire too soon.

I was a patient of Dr. Moor's for about 2 years. Everything was going swimmingly...or so I thought. Then, one day I come in for an appointment, start to check in, and the older lady (later found out its his wife) said to me verbatim, "Do you have some kind of problem with me?" I was SHOCKED! I'm a 6'4", 225 athletic person and this little old lady is talking to me like some drunk moron meatball at the bar!!!
I absolutely could not believe it. I immediately left and called from the parking lot to change my primary care physician. It has NOTHING to do with the care I received from the doctor. It has everything to do with that 100% unprofessional, uncomfortable, and inappropriate behavior on the part of Mrs. Moor.
This lady needs help. Too bad too because the rest of the staff were all really pleasant every time and made me feel at home. So did the doctor. It only takes one sour apple to ruin the bunch!

This was a first visit to establish a new patient profile. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. The setting is very nice and welcoming. Dr. Moor was very helpful and took a complete history, covering full medical events. He explained his role and what he expected from the patients. I would recommend this medical practice to anyone seeking a physician in Yuma.

Choosing a doctor is difficult, and I typically use Google reviews to try to gain insights into both bedside manner and the doctor's medical approach. I put more weight on their medical approach than because I believe in addressing root causes with food/supplements rather than prescription meds and by looking at the body as a connected unit rather than a collection of individual parts. This is why I typically choose D.O.s over M.D.s.
RED FLAGS: My new patient appointment with Dr. Moor was good, and I was pleased with his indepth line of questioning and the easy conversation about my health and family history. I had many items we agreed to test via my blood draws plus a mammo and my first bone density scan. But then the red flag was there. Dr. Moor told me that if his office staff did not always follow up and that I should call if I didn't hear from them. (Seriously) Well, he wasn't kidding.
FIRST FAIL: His office staff SENT only one of my two imaging orders to the imaging facility. Strangely, the imaging facility made both appointments for the same day, back to back BUT when I got there, I was told that they had received only one of the two orders so could not proceed with the 2nd test. The imaging office staff made multiple attempts to call Dr. Moor's office but got no answer. Finally, they reached his office, and I waited at least another 45 minutes for the order to be sent to the imaging facility. The end order never arrived, so I went home. I ended up having to call Dr. Moor's office later that day to get the order sent. And yes, I had to go twice for something that should have been handled in one trip.
SECOND FAIL: The office staff (not medical professionals) did call about my blood test results and just read what I had already received a week prior. By that point, I had already completed my own research and made my own determinations as to deficiencies. The worst part of receiving results in this way was that it took about 3 weeks for someone to give me the bad news that I had osteoporosis. (I had received the results from the imaging facility at the same time they did, but Dr. Moor knew this was my first bone scan and that this would be difficult news for me to hear. It really deserved personalized attention from the doctor, not untrained office staff. Dr. Moor's staff told me that I was being referred to a rheumatologist to discuss my osteoporosis. Wow, I was floored, and, of course, I didn't take the referral. Instead, I did my own research (again) to determine my course of action.
CANNOT RECOMMEND:
I can not recommend Dr. Moor because of my experience and suggest you look elsewhere if you care about your experience and your health. My impression is that he is a lazy doctor waiting to retire. He is not looking to partner with you on your health. He should expect more of himself and his office staff.

Dr. Moor is a great family doctor who is professional, courteous and has an awesome bedside manner. Once established, appointments can be easily made without a lot of advance notice. Dr. Moore will take his time with you and make sure to explain things to you in language you can understand, and has the patience to answer all of your questions without making one feel rushed. If you're in need a family doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Moor and his friendly staff.
